Welcome to the City of Connellsville, located in Fayette County in Southwestern Pennsylvania along the banks of the Youghiogheny River. Originally founded as a borough on March 1, 1806, in February 1909, balloting in New Haven and Connellsville resulted in these two boroughs joining and becoming the first City on Fayette County on May 12, 1911, and currently has a population of 9,146, according to the 2000 census.

2014 Fayette County Wednesday Walks

These walks are sponsored by the Healthy Lifestyles Task Force. These walks are designed to improve the health of Fayette County residents by increasing their level of physical activity. The walks will take place, June 11th, Uniontown: Historic Churches Walk; June 18th, Rich Farms: Farm Walk; June 25th, Treehouse at Summit Inn Walk; July 2nd, Perryopolis: Bicentennial Walk; July 9th, West Overton Museum Walk; July 16th, Ohiopyle-Sproul Trail Hike; July 23rd, Linden Hall: Days of Old Walk; July 30th, Brownsville's Patsy Hillman Park Walk; August 6th, Touchstone Center for the Arts Walk; August 13th, Forbes State Forest Hike; August 20th, Connellsville Railroads: Past, Present & Future Walk; and August 27th, Celebration Picnic. Movies in the Park

The Connellsville Recreation Board has announced the movies and dates for the summertime delight known as Movies in the Park. Here's the tentative schedule: June 13th, "Monsters University," then on June 27th, "The Wizard of Oz,'" followed by on July 11th, "Back to the Future," then on July 25, "Mary Poppins," on August 8th, The Never Ending Story," and ending on August 21st with, "Friday Night Lights" with a pep rally to follow. Follow the Recreation Board on Facebook for any changes and/or additions.

Lions Square Summer Concert Series
