St. Rita Christian Mothers Celebrate Nationality Day

Celebrate Nationality Day with the ladies of the Christian Mother's group at St. Rita's church. There is a variety of Italian food, like pizza, manicotti, cavatelli, hot sausage, eggplant parmesan, baked goods and more. A spaghetti dinner with all the trimmings only costs $7.00! Connellsville's Annual Mum Festival, sponsored by Downtown Connellsville and the Fayette County Cultural Trust, will be held Saturday, September 6, 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. along Crawford Avenue. Featuring beautiful fall mums for sale. Vendors will include a variety of artisans, crafters and food. This is the last Farmers Market for the season, There will be bountiful local fresh produce and pumpkins, corn stalks and gourds. There is no admission fee. Additional information will be made available later.

Located in the Connellsville Canteen at 131 West Crawford Avenue, this small, informal area will hold about 40 people for lectures, musical entertainment or a dinner show. On September 9, 2014, Jeff Monahan, film writer, actor and producer, will lecture about films, his projects and experiences from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The lecture is free and light refreshments will be served; October 18th, enjoy a dinner show and evening with Katelyn Ritenour and Tyler Hough from 6 pm to 9 pm. The cost of the dinner and show is $20; On November 14th, come back for a night of bluegrass music featuring Barry Hall and George Kenney, Southern Comfort Band Experience from 6 pm to 9 pm. The cost of the dinner and show is $30; on December 13th, a dinner show is offered with Talbot and Maddow Maruca from 6 pm to 9 pm, with a cost of $20 for the dinner and show.

The Community Center wants to be your favorite spot this spooky, Halloween season. Here's what they have lined up so far: There's going to be a Monster Mash Dance for children ages 5 - 12 on Saturday, October 25, 2014, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 p.m. Tickets are $3.00 and if your child brings a canned good for the Connellsville Community Ministries, they'll get a $1.00 discount. This will take place in Project Talent Room 302,m on the third floor. Project Talent Theatre Workshops will be presenting a Parade of Costumes and Trick or Treat. On Saturday, October 25, 20114 at 2:00 p.m. Prizes to be awarded and refreshments will be sold. Canned goods for the Connellsville Community will be collected. Myths, Legends and Ghosts. Come if you Dare! This is interactive Storytelling . Tickets are $6.00, but only $5.00 if you bring a canned good for the Connellsville Community Ministries,. Downtown Connellsville presents It's a Connellsville Christmas. There are so many things going on this weekend. Details are still coming in, but here's some things to look forward to...Artworks, will again have the Children's Creativity Zone to assist children in making a special ornament; The Connellsville Canteen will be open and running, even hosting a Breakfast with Santa! The Skating Rink will be back in the parking lot in front of H & R Block, that will be just as much fun this year as it was last year. Several Churches and the Carnegie Free Library will be holding Christmas Markets, the Porter Theater will have something Christmassy going on too. More information will be added as it comes in.
