Located in the Connellsville Canteen at 131 West Crawford Avenue, this small, informal area will hold about 40 people for lectures, musical entertainment or a dinner show. On September 9, 2014, Jeff Monahan, film writer, actor and producer, will lecture about films, his projects and experiences from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The lecture is free and light refreshments will be served; October 18th, enjoy a dinner show and evening with Katelyn Ritenour and Tyler Hough from 6 pm to 9 pm. The cost of the dinner and show is $20; On November 14th, come back for a night of bluegrass music featuring Barry Hall and George Kenney, Southern Comfort Band Experience from 6 pm to 9 pm. The cost of the dinner and show is $30; on December 13th, a dinner show is offered with Talbot and Maddow Maruca from 6 pm to 9 pm, with a cost of $20 for the dinner and show.

Haunted Hallways

The Community Center wants to be your favorite spot this spooky, Halloween season. Every Friday and Saturday, you can go and see what makes the Hallways so Haunted, if you dare!!! Haunted Hallways will take place Fridays, October 3, 10, 17, and 31st, from 6:30 to 10:00 pm and on Saturdays, October 4, 11,18 and November 1st, from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm. What will you see on this 'Haunted Hallways' Tour, you ask??? You'll see what you want to see, like ghosts, zombies, VooDoo Doctors, even walk thru a cemetary, and more. The cost is $6.00 per person, but only $5.00 if you donate a can of food for to Connellsville Community Ministries. There's also going to be a Monster Mash Dance for children ages 5 - 12 on Saturday, October 25, 2014, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 p.m. Tickets are $3.00 and if your child brings a canned good for the Connellsville Community Ministries, they'll get a $1.00 discount. This will take place in Project Talent Room 302, on the third floor. Project Talent Theater Workshops will be presenting a Parade of Costumes and Trick or Treat. On Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Prizes to be awarded and refreshments will be sold. Canned goods for the Connellsville Community will be collected. Myths, Legends and Ghosts. Come if you Dare! This is interactive Storytelling . Tickets are $6.00, but only $5.00 if you bring a canned good for the Connellsville Community Ministries,. Oct 6, 2014 to November 8, 2014 CAHS Patriots project to place wreaths on graves of Veterans in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, PA. Please give a donation so a wreath may be placed on every Veterans grave at this National Cemetery. One wreath is $15; 4 wreaths is $60. Give what you can. Late Night Showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show

This year you can come to the movies, either early or late. Or stay for both of them! The first showing will be at 7:00 p.m. and the next showing will be at Midnight. Admission is only $5, and your Prop Bag is $10 (for your movie acting participation). You've seen the movie, so you know what the props are for... Harlem Wizards vs. Connellsville All Stars

The Connellsville Falcon Foundation is hosting an all-star basketball game between the Harlem Wizards and area students/teachers. The doors open at 5:30 pm and the game starts at 7:00 pm. As an added bonus, at half-time, there's s 3-point shot that could win you $500.00 (sponsored by Wendy's. Advance tickets for students is $8.00 and General Admission tickets are $10.00. Tickets at the door will be $10.00 for Students and $12.00 for General admission.
Halloween Parade

New Haven Hose is sponsoring it's Annual Halloween Parade. The parade will line-up on East and West Green Streets and East and West Washington Avenues. The parade will travel north on Pittsburgh Street, make a left turn onto Crawford Avenue at Brimstone Corner and proceed over the bridge ending on Seventh Street at the New Haven Fire Hall, with treats for all.

For the first time in a long time, Trick or Treat will be celebrated on Halloween this year. So, get ready for ghosts, goblins, pirates and princesses to knock on your door! Trick or Treat is scheduled for Friday, October 31st from 6 pm to 85 pm.

This summit will highlight southwestern Pennsylvania food production and processing. Local agricultural experts will be attending and you can join in on several panel discussions. Speakers include: U.S. Deputy Sec. of Agriculture Krysta Harden; Tom Williams, PA State Director USDA Rural Development; and Bill Wehry, State Executive Director Farm Service Agency. The cost to attend is $15.00 and lunch will be prepared by Chef Jeremy Critchfield of The Historic Stone House Inn & Restaurant. Ingredients for the lunch will be sourced as local to our region as possible.

Veterans Day Parade

Connellsville is hosting the Fayette County Veterans Day Parade on November 11, 2014. The parade will begin at 10:45 am on the West Side on Crawford Avenue and pause on the Crawford Avenue Bridge at 11:00 am for a salute to all Veterans. The parade will then proceed through the downtown area and make a left turn onto North Pittsburgh Street. A Memorial program will take place at the Veterans Memorial at the intersection of North Pittsburgh Street and Memorial Boulevard.

The Skyliners in Concert

Conn-Area Catholic School is hosting the well-know popular vocal group "Jimmy Beaumont and the Skyliners' at the Porter Theater in the Connellsville Community Center, on Saturday, November 15, 2014, at 6:30 pm. This music is from the 1950's and 1960's and the Skyliners have been inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2002. To go along with that spirit, there will be a '50's Style Malt/Soda Shop' in the theater area where you can order ice cream sundaes, sodas and other desserts and refreshments. Reserved seating tickets are $20.00 and can be purchased at Conn-Area Catholic School at 613 W. Crawford Avenue or call the school at 724-628-5090.

Downtown Connellsville presents It's a Connellsville Christmas. There are so many things going on this weekend. Details are still coming in, but here's some things to look forward to...Artworks, will again have the Children's Creativity Zone to assist children in making a special ornament; The Connellsville Canteen will be open and running, even hosting a Breakfast with Santa! The Skating Rink will be back in the parking lot in front of H & R Block, that will be just as much fun this year as it was last year. Several Churches and the Carnegie Free Library will be holding Christmas Markets, the Porter Theater will have something Christmassy going on too. More information will be added as it comes in.
