January 7, 2008 City Council Reorganization Meeting Minutes

This special meeting held by Connellsville City Council was held this morning at 10 A.M. in City Council Chambers, Municipal Building, North Arch Street, Connellsville City Hall. Attending this meeting were Mayor Reed, Councilmen Bodes, Geyer, McIntire, and Matthews. Also attending were City Clerk Tesauro and Captain McSheffrey.

This meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence followed by roll call.

Being there were no public remarks or comments, business began with the Regular Agenda.

Mayor Reed introduced and moved adoption of Resolution No. 1-01-08, which was seconded by Bodes, “to consider a motion to reorganize council: Judy Reed as Mayor, Terry Bodes as Director of Accounts and Finance, Brad Geyer as Director of Parks and Recreation and Buildings, David McIntire as Director of Public Health of Safety, and Charlie Matthews as Director of Public Improvements.”

A vote upon the adoption of the resolution resulted as follows: Affirmative were Reed, McIntire, Bodes, Matthews, and Geyer. The vote being unanimous, the resolution was adopted.

Reed introduced and moved adoption of Resolution No. 1-03-08, which was seconded by Bodes, “to accept the resignation of City Solicitor Gretchen Mundorff, effective January 7, 2008.”

A vote upon the adoption of the resolution resulted as follows: Affirmative were Reed, Bodes, McIntire, Geyer and Matthews. The vote being unanimous, the resolution was adopted.

Reed introduced and moved adoption of Resolution No. 1-04-08, which was seconded by Bodes, “to contract and appoint Thomas A. Bowlen, from the Law Firm Horewitz, Cordaro, Bowlen and Miele as City Solicitor for superintendence, direction and control of the law matters for the City of Connellsville for the annual salary of $15,000.00 effective immediately.”

A vote upon the adoption of the resolution resulted as follows: Affirmative were Reed, Bodes, McIntire, Geyer and Matthews. The vote being unanimous, the resolution was adopted.

Councilmen Bodes, McIntire, Matthews and Geyer had no business under their departments.

Reed introduced and moved adoption of Resolution No. 1-02-08, which was seconded by Bodes, “that this meeting of City Council does hereby adjourn.”

A vote upon the adoption of the resolution resulted as follows: Affirmative were Reed, Bodes, McIntire, Geyer and Matthews. The vote being unanimous, the resolution was adopted.
